We all have our specialties. That’s what makes us all so worth loving. I firmly believe in that.
That said, graphic design and computer design are not my strength. So, when my friends at Basic Invite asked me about collaborating and showed me what they do, I was all in. I am excited to share something that gives my wide variety of clients an option that fits their individual style. Plus, I got to have a lot of fun with the Basic Invite folks creating a sample to show you guys. So, if you didn’t know… I am marrying Jack Colter this fall! I’m not totally sure who Jack Colter is….. but we have our wedding invites (and besides, I like the sound of his name)! The team at Basic Invite was incredibly smooth in helping me set up a package of paper goods that fit the style of my brand and location. Their many options provide lots of flexibility to find a perfect fit for your style and message.
Paper goods are not an easy choice, as they can really shape the aesthetic of the day, regardless of your plans or group size. Even if you’re up my alley and are thinking of something small and intimate, many babes opt to send out something via snail mail that sets the tone of the event to share the news of their “I do’s” with friends and family.
If you don’t know Basic Invite, this blog might just save you. The images of the invite I created with them is just one of over 800 personalized wedding invitation sets. That includes “save the dates,” invitations, RSVPs, enclosure cards for details, menus, programs and thank you cards. Within those sets your options are, and I’m not kidding, nearly endless.
Let’s talk about the features I found when I was creating this invite:
1- Colors. This one is crucial for me. I’m an incredibly visual person (no kidding, right?). With a lot of paper goods you have a few options, but not tons. With Basic Invite, your color choices are almost unlimited and you can view instant previews as you go, helping you find exactly what you want. As I crafted this invite, I was able to change every single part of the designs colors, making the aesthetic fit the style of my hypothetical wedding to Jack perfectly.
Plus, they just added rose gold to the foil line, introduced foil place cards, and launched a new collection! A particular favorite feature for me is that they offer photo wedding invites… so, when we capture amazing images of you and your babe, you can use those as your invite if a design layout doesn’t seem like the right fit.
2- Let’s take this a step further. Not only were the colors of the invite totally within my control, but even the envelopes follow their motto of flexibility for the client. I had over 40 color choices.. for the ENVELOPES. You’re investing in these details of your day, and you want the mail to pop when your friends and family pick it up at delivery.
3- Alright, we’ve got the basics of the goods covered. But, what if I don’t love this when it arrives?! For me, and especially as I’ve gotten older, ordering online is a bit scary. Here’s where they take that stress away: they are one of a few companies who allow you to order a sample of what you’ve created before finishing the final order. That’s huge… you can check it out & see how it feels for you when you receive it in the mail to make sure you love the way it will make your friends and family feel.
4- Here’s perk 4. Basic Invite has an amazing free address collection service. All you have to do is share a link with everyone, collect their addresses, and get free envelope printing. How cool is that?! I personally write a lot of mail because I love snail mail and the intention behind taking time to write a letter… but…. I’m pretty bad at holding on to addresses. Ask basically any of my friends… I may have written to them 25 times, and I still text them for their address every single time. Planning any vows, be it an elopement or a full 200-person wedding, can be really stressful. This added option takes a huge chunk of time out for you to go climb a mountain with your babe, hit the slopes, or snag an extra-long trail run.
You’re probably wondering if I’m going to end this love-letter to Basic Invite. I will, but not until I add one more of my favorite features.
5. Guest books… we’re all wondering how best to find a place for those we hold close to leave us a few words of encouragement or wisdom on a new journey. Or, maybe you weren’t even considering this. But, with an easy add to your invitation set, you can… and in all the weddings I’ve gotten to be a part of, I have yet to attend one that I didn’t LOVE peeking at the thoughts left by guests. A few years down the road, or 40…. those words will continue to bring smiles. The books also have a ring-binding hidden inside so that the book lays entirely flat and maintains a classy and convenient look.
You’re probably pretty interested at this point, as you should be. A simple, beautiful way to handle your paper goods. Frankly, it doesn’t get a whole lot better than that. Get creatin’ babes!
